Wow! It’s already the first day of instruction for us Tritons. Can’t believe summer went by so fast. As the title says, welcome back!
Break time is over but good news is that our volunteers have reunited yet again and we have even more opportunities for everyone to volunteer or socialize and build a stronger bond :).
We know we have been a bit MIA (missing in action) for the past couple of months, but no worries! We’re here to catch you guys up :). On top of the normal regular events that our volunteers, who stayed in the San Diego are over the summer, continued over the summer break, we have many many updates.
As of yesterday, we have reached our 1-year anniversary of our social media movement #WeeklyWisdoms. The idea of #WeeklyWisdoms is for us to share our Dharma Master Cheng Yen’s teachings to everyone. We do this by creating a digital graphic and then posting on Facebook and Instagram 🙂 on a weekly basis, typically on Wednesdays. Hence, the name #WeeklyWisdoms. If you have been following us on this journey, we thank you and are grateful for your participation. If you have not, that’s okay! It’s never too late to join us.
In addition to our social media anniversary, we will also be posting sharings about what our volunteers have been doing over the summer besides our regular events such as chaperoning a month camp for international high school and college students from Taiwan as they learn about “Trust, Cooperation, Strategic Planning, and Communication” and the American culture or their experiences attending the 2016 National Tzu Chi Collegiate Association Leadership Conference in San Jose.
Just like last year, we have prepared for you an introduction to each of our members of our ’16-’17 UCSD Tzu Ching Officer Cabinet – #MeetTheOfficers! We got together a couple of questions about why our officers love Tzu Ching, what their goals are, and other various amounts of information. You’ll have to wait and find out what they said ;). These sharings will be released every weekday for the next 9 days, starting today. Meet our 9 officers and the 3 teams :).
Last but not least, we have some lovely alumni reflections about their experiences with UCSD Tzu Ching, what they would miss most about it, and other heart-warming details. These will most likely be posted once a week until we get through all of the reflections. So make sure to keep an eye out for that as well!
If you made it to the end of this post, kudos to you! ❤ Thank you for your time and hopefully by the end of this #MeetTheOfficers series, you’ll know our family a little bit more and why we stay together with this wonderful organization.
Good luck with the new school year! May we see your lovely faces at our events and join our compassionate family <3.
