Winter Quarter Update :)

Happy New Year and welcome back! Hope everyone is having a great start so far.
 
Ethical Eating Day V2 croppedTo start the year, we would like to encourage you to make a difference by joining us for a vegetarian dinner on Monday, 1/11, Ethical Eating Day. Everyone can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and let’s start with baby steps! For more information, please visit our event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/834189690043704/). Don’t forget to click “going” on the event page before 5 PM tomorrow (1/10) so that we can have head counts to reserve the restaurant. Thank you!

Everybody Reads
Jan 17 (Sun) @ Peterson Loop for rides, 8 AM

Tzu Chings tutor grades 1-12 children from low-income families in math, English, and/or other school subjects at the Crown Heights Community Resource Center in Oceanside. We also help promote Ji Sing Aphorisms to help the students learn good habits to incorporate into their lives.
 
WOW! Flyering
Jan 21 (Thu) Library Walk
Tzu Chings will be passing out flyers at Winter Org Wonderland (WOW) on Library Walk. Come and help us promote Tzu Ching and recruit new members, or just stop by to say hi and hang out with us.
 
MASA Night Market
Jan 22 (Fri) @ TBA
Tzu Chings will be selling delicious Cartwheel Pies! Join us in promoting vegetarianism and raising awareness of our organization!
 
Happy Campus
Fridays, Jan 22 and 29 @ Croutons at the Student Service Center for rides,12:30 PM
Every Friday, Tzu Chings mentor students from first to fifth grade at Herbert Ibarra Elementary School. Our goal is to teach them the meaning of love, respect, and gratitude and integrate it into their lifestyle no matter what their family background.
 
Convalescent Home
Jan 23 (Sat) @ Peterson Loop for rides, 9 AM
Every month, Tzu Chings pay a visit to the Convalescent Home to brighten the day of the elderly by performing musical and dance numbers, playing interactive games (such as charades), and chatting with them.
 
Year End Blessing Ceremony
Jan 31 (Sun) @ TBA
Tzu Chings come together with the San Diego Tzu Chi community to celebrate the Lunar New Year! While we review the year’s work in Tzu Chi, there will also be performances, good food, and good company.
